SEC charges Mango Markets exploiter for allegedly stealing $116M in crypto

Mango Markets later reported roughly $67 million value of funds had been returned, with Eisenberg publicly stating he believed his actions had been authorized as a part of a “extremely worthwhile buying and selling technique”.

Authorities arrested Eisenberg in Puerto Rico in December. The FBI’s criticism acknowledged he “willfully and knowingly” engaged in a scheme involving the “intentional and synthetic manipulation” of the worth of perpetual futures on the crypto platform. The CFTC adopted with its personal lawsuit on Jan. 9, accusing Eisenberg of market manipulation.
